Executing the Victory of Christ

It is very important for us to be aware of why we were raised up by God. The apostle Paul said: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10.

We have a purpose, a destiny to fulfill. God has a plan for us to follow, a work that must be done. He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4), and created us in Christ, at such a time as this, that we might execute His will in the earth. We should feel the same way Christ felt when He said, “Lo, I come (in the volume of the Book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will, O God” (Hebrews 10:7).

The Lord Jesus Christ has conquered Satan and totally defeated him, but His victory must be executed by the many-membered Body of Christ. It has been pre-ordained by God for the Body of Christ to execute the judgments of God in the earth. And the God of peace shall bruise (Greek: suntribo, “to crush completely”) Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Romans 16:20. Jesus has been proclaimed “Savior” for many years, but now it is time to proclaim Him “Lord,” until all His enemies are placed under His feet (Philippians 2:10-11; Hebrews 10:13).

Genesis 3:14-15 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

It seems a little ironic that this prophecy of Christ’s victory came at a time of defeat. The serpent beguiled Eve, and she and Adam partook of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Thus was the fall of man. Adam lost his dominion and was driven from the garden of Eden because of his disobedience (Genesis 3:24). No longer would he be able to walk and talk with God as he once had. It seemed to be a great victory for Satan that day; Christ was bruised on the heel. It also seemed to be a victory for Satan when the Seed of the woman, our Savior, was taken up the hill of Golgotha and crucified.

God spoke judgment upon the serpent, and then He said, “I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed.” God was declaring war upon Satan. The serpent and the woman became enemies. Enmity, according to Webster, denotes a strong, settled feeling of hatred.

Eve is a type of the Church, which means that God places an enmity between the devil and the Church. They are enemies! When one comes into the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, he not only finds a growing love for the Lord, but he also finds a growing hatred for Satan. However, it is not a human hatred, but the divine hatred of God for Satan and his works.

When Jesus came on the scene, the devil immediately came to tempt Him in an effort to nullify His ministry (Matthew 4:11). It did not work! Jesus came out of the wilderness walking and ministering in the power and authority of God.

Since the devil could not tempt Jesus directly, he began using the religious Pharisees, Sadducees, and chief priests in an effort to kill Him. They were subjects of Satan, and therefore they hated Jesus without a cause (John 8:44; 15:25). Because of the enmity that God had put between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent, everyone that is subject to Satan hates Christ, and everyone subject to Christ hates Satan.

The Pharisees would never admit that they were subject to the devil. In fact, they said they were of their father Abraham, and that they had only one father, even God (John 8:39,41). But Christ told them plainly who their father was. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. John 8:44. The Pharisees claimed God as their father when in reality they were the seed of Satan. They were so deceived they were not consciously aware of whom they were serving.

It will be the same in this day as the Church Age comes to a close. As Christ comes forth in a many-membered Body, it will be religious people who claim to be Christians that will try to kill the Christ. They shall put you out of the synagogues (churches): yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor Me. John 16:2-3. Their deception will be so great they will not know that they are serving Satan

We are not in a time of peace. We are in a time of great war, and it is ordained by God Himself. He has created the enmity! Jesus said: Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. Matthew 10:34-35.

It is time to expose the Pharisees. The Pharisees were the religious leaders of that day. The people were taught and led by them, but they were not aware that their religious leaders were subjects of Satan. When Christ exposed them all Jerusalem rose up against Him and had Him crucified. They were so conditioned by the antichrist spirit that they could not accept Jesus as their Messiah.

The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ was the bruising of the head of the serpent. Death could not hold Him! He arose as Lord and King, the Victor over Satan and his kingdom. Yet we see Satan vigorously at work in this day. Why is wickedness so rampant, even though Satan has been defeated? The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus provided us with total victory over Satan, but the Church will have to manifest that victory and execute the judgments of God upon the wicked (Psalm 149:5-9; Romans 16:20). It will be Christ in a many-membered Body that crushes the head of Satan.

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise (Greek: suntribo, “crush completely”) Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Jesus provided the victory, but we will have to execute it. It will be our feet that crushes Satan. God never intended for Christ as an individual to complete the destruction of Satan and his kingdom. He wants to incorporate us in that victory. Executing the judgments of God is an honor He gives His holy ones. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all His saints. Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 149:5-9.

It seems, for a time, that the antichrist has the upper hand, but then judgment will sit and the saints of the Highest One will possess the Kingdom. And he (antichrist) shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time (this has been happening). But the judgment shall sit (this happens when you make the decision that you are a part of the army of the Lord raised up to execute God’s will in the earth), and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. And the Kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the Kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him. Daniel 7:25-27.

Paul said, “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.” How soon will this happen? As soon as we become “Satan-stompers.” Let’s get those feet into action! It will not happen by wishing it done or by waiting on someone else to do it. It happens when we get the revelation that we are “Satan-stompers,” raised up to war with Christ as He annihilates Satan and establishes His Kingdom on earth.

Someone said, “Oh, I can’t wait until Christ returns and destroys the devil and his works.” You will wait forever if you are waiting for a Christ outside of you, separate from you, to do it for you. Is Christ in you? Has all judgment been given to Him by the Father (John 5:22)? Turn Him loose! Turn loose the Christ within you! How long will you hold Him back? How long will you let Satan’s kingdom stand? “But I don’t know what to do.” You will know what to do when you become willing to do the will of God. If any man will do His will, he shall know… John 17:7.

Hebrews 10:12-13 But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made his footstool.

Would you say that this scripture reveals the stubbornness of the Lord? Maybe “determination” would be a better word. Jesus made the sacrifice for sins so we could be set free to serve God. Then He sat down at the right hand of God, and now He is waiting for His enemies to be made the footstool for His feet. Who is He waiting for? Who does He expect to do it? He has been waiting for almost 2,000 years. That is what I call determination! He is determined to sit there until someone gets the job done. Christians are waiting on Jesus to do it; Jesus is waiting on Christians to do it. Could it be that it will never get done? I am inclined to believe that Satan will have access to move in the earth until the Church gets a revelation of what God wants done and responds as Isaiah did, “Here am I, Lord. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8).

The general attitude among Christians is that Jesus is sitting around waiting for an opportunity to serve them in some way. “Oh, Lord, please solve this problem. Do this for me. Do that for me. Bless my project. Send me some money; I have a need.” To tell the truth, I do not think God is interested in our personal problems so much as He is interested in getting His will done. He says, “Seek first his Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). The Lord has His own project that He is interested in, and He is determined that it will have priority. He is going to sit right where He is until the Church receives the revelation that they were raised up to serve him. Can you see it? We are raised up to serve the Lord. He has a destiny for us. He has a job for us to do.

As Jesus ministered on earth, He said, “The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister” (Matthew 20:28). That does not mean that He came to serve us; He was on a mission from God. He was serving the Father, not man. His priority was to do the will of God, and He never deviated from that. He only did those things which pleased the Father (John 8:29). Then He said, “As My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you’ (John 20:21). He sat down at the right hand of God, and now we are to serve Him.

Can we lay our lives down and serve the Lord? Can we, at the least, make our problems and needs secondary to what He wants? We will never be able to do the will of God until we forget ourselves, our own problems, and realize that we have been redeemed to do His will. We are His possession!

Psalm 110:1-3 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit Thou at My right hand, until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool.
2 The Lord shall send the rod of Thy strength out of Zion: rule Thou in the midst of Thine enemies.
3 Thy people shall be willing (will volunteer freely) in the day of Thy power (army), in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: Thou hast the dew of Thy youth.

Thy people will volunteer freely in the day of Thy army – The Lord is in the process of drawing His army together. He will be the Captain of this host, just as He was with Joshua when he went into the land of Canaan to defeat the Canaanites (Joshua 5:13-15). However, this war is not against flesh and blood, but “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). It is warfare in the realm of spirit. However, we will see results in the natural realm, too. Every kingdom in the realm of spirit and in the natural realm will be brought in submission to the Lord Jesus Christ. Where they refuse to submit to Him, they will be broken and ground to powder (Luke 20:18). Every nation and government will be brought under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. And that ministry is our responsibility.

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power (literally, “authority”) is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations (literally, “make disciples of all nations”), baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world(literally, “age”). Amen.

Jesus did not say He was going to do this by Himself. He said, “You go and make disciples of all the nations and I’ll be with you.” We have this responsibility, and the minute we set about to do His will we will find Him with us.

Satan and his works must be destroyed forever. This is the responsibility of the army of God under the direction of the Lord Jesus Christ (Revelation 19:11-16). There will be a remnant who will volunteer freely to be in His army (Psalm 110:3). Their only desire will be to do His will, to see the victory of Jesus Christ manifested in the earth, to establish His Lordship and His Kingdom once and for all time.

Compared to the number of Christians in the world today, only a few will volunteer freely. God has always used a remnant, and it will not be any different this time. Will you volunteer? Will you be a “Satan-stomper”?

The ones who volunteer in this army will sense the enmity between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman. An intense love for the Lord and an intense hatred for the devil will drive them. They will not be drafted; neither will the Lord beg them to enlist. They will force their way to the battle front (Matthew 11:12; Luke 16:16). They will refuse to be left out of the end-time battle. They will volunteer freely in the day of His army.
